The Journey of Faith part 3

Exodus 3:8 (NIV) 8 So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a GOOD and SPACIOUS LAND, a land flowing with milk and honey—the home of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites.
The 3rd part of the believer’s walk of faith on the journey of prosperity is the place called CANAAN.
Canaan is a place of more than enough! It is a place of productivity! It is that place where you are called to be a blessing to others! It is the place where you go past needs and begin to meet the needs of others.
Canaan is a ‘place.’ The Psalmist in Psalms 66:12 says, “You have caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water; but You brought us out to rich fulfillment.” The Amplified Translation says, “…Yet You brought us out into a [broad] PLACE of abundance [to be refreshed].” Canaan is what the Psalmist refers to as ‘A BROAD PLACE OF ABUNDANCE.’
Psalms 23:5 (NKJV) 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over.
Canaan is the place where your cup runs over! ‘Cup’ also refers to ‘money bags!’ Canaan is the place where your money bag runs over by consequence of the anointing or grace of God upon the head.
However, to move from the wilderness to Canaan, the believer MUST pass through Jericho!
Joshua 5:10-12 (NKJV) 10 Now the children of Israel camped in Gilgal, and kept the Passover on the fourteenth day of the month at twilight on the plains of Jericho. 11 And they ate of the produce of the land on the day after the Passover, unleavened bread and parched grain, on the very same day. 12 Then the manna ceased on the day after they had eaten the produce of the land; and the children of Israel no longer had manna, but they ate the food of the land of Canaan that year.
When God brings you to the ‘plains’ of Jericho, it is not so that you dwell there permanently rather it is so that you can enter into the city! These plains refer to institutions that believers are currently either working for or are engaged in some ways! Nothing wrong with working for/with corporations or businesses of people that aren’t saved – they are your plains! You must know that the ultimate however is for you to take POSSESSION.
In Canaan there is no manna, rather you have products. In order to have ‘products’ you have to engage and be productive! In Canaan you eat the ‘FOOD OF THE LAND’ not manna!
When Manna ceases, most believers become confused. They begin to think that God has left them. Some even refuse to make any move. They keep waiting and expecting God to send manna ‘someday.’ In Canaan, God empowers you to be a blessing! God moves when you move! Rather than just expecting a miracle, you become the miracle!
A lot of believers want Canaan but they are afraid to go in and take Canaan. Canaan is given by grace but it is taken by faith! Here’s the reason most believers are afraid of moving into Canaan!
Joshua 6:1 (NKJV) 1 Now Jericho was securely shut up because of the children of Israel; NONE went out, and NONE came in.
Most believers are afraid because of what they SEE and what they HEAR! They look at Jericho and its walls and they become scared to take a step because they have been told that NONE goes out and comes in. They have been told of the giants that dwell in the land.
Don’t allow the data and statistics scare you because there is no way you can enter into Canaan without ‘seeing’ past the walls of limitations called Jericho. The first generation of Israelites couldn’t see past Jericho and they returned to the wilderness. Refuse to go back to how it used to be! Ask yourself, “What is keeping me from MOVING?”
When manna ceases, don’t forget that grace never ceases. It is the grace that brought manna that now empowers you with wisdom, strength, resources, connections and to go and be productive. As a pastor this is when you begin to see yourself as GIFT rather than a BURDEN to your church. You spend quality time to receive from God what the people need. You see yourself feeding the people because you have what they need.
As a believer in business, you move past doing business to feed your family and you begin to see yourself solving problems and creating products that bless humanity.
Remember it is He who gives you POWER to get wealth (Deut 8:18). Take this power into existing territories and see things respond to you supernaturally!
