The Journey of Faith part 1
The life of the believer on his journey of faith is in 3 phases:
The first is EGYPT - a place of status quo. The place of 'not enough.' This is the place where the systems dictate your life! It tells you what you can have and when you can have it.
Systems are not bad but they are not meant to rule you and make you a slave! The systems should work for you and you should live above the systems.
Most believers in Egypt sit and just wait for something to happen. They keep looking for 'one day!'. They hope that one day an 'Egyptian' will come and deliver his goods to them. They think an extra degree might just be the key! Sad but true the answer is NO!
Exodus 11:2 2 Speak now in the hearing of the people, and let every man ask from his neighbor and every woman from her neighbor, articles of silver and articles of gold.”
Exodus 12:13, 35 13 Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt. 35 Now the children of Israel had done according to the word of Moses, and they had asked from the Egyptians articles of silver, articles of gold, and clothing.
The way to break out is through blood and faith expressed in that blood by going to the Egyptians and making demands. This is where the favor of God is made manifest!
1John 5:4—6 (NKJV) 4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. 6 This is He who came by water and blood—Jesus Christ; not only by water, but by water and blood...
One of the most practical demonstration of our faith in the grace of God is when we CONSCIOUSLY and DELIBERATELY act upon God's Word to SUBDUE the systems of this world by keeping our eyes on the blood of Jesus while taking STEPS of faith.
Every person in Hebrews 11 made a move! They stayed determined because they were persuaded about what they saw and what they knew.
Hebrews 11:33 (NKJV) 33 who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,
Kingdoms do not just hand over their systems. It has to be subdued through faith. The word 'subdued' actually means to contend out struggle against. Sometimes because it looks like you are struggling doesn't mean you are not in faith. Stay determined and focused because faith doesn't necessarily make things easy rather it makes things possible!
The Message translation says, "Through acts of faith, they toppled kingdoms, made justice work, took the promises for themselves..."
Keep taking bold steps of faith. There are more failures with those who are too cautious, waiting for something to change someday than those who dare to move out of their comfort zone to step into the 'unknown.'
Make justice work! Demand it. Like the woman who appealed to the unjust judge for justice in Luke 18:1-8, keep pressing in prayer because prayer is an act of persistent faith. Luke 18:8 says, "I assure you, he will. He will not drag his feet. But how much of that kind of persistent faith will the Son of Man find on the earth when he returns?" prayer is more than having needs met, it is about demanding justice and establishing the will of God. Refuse to be denied what is yours by blood!
Maybe you have stepped out in faith and it looks like you are struggling, don't give up! Don't faint, PRAY! keep looking at those scriptures as you pray! Keep speaking. Your persistence is wearing out the resistance.
Get practical! Strategize! Make a move! Be bold! Believe. Brave yourself for the process and fight! Be intentional! Be deliberate and come out of the comfort zone!
The work of blood is to break death's hold over the systems and release supernatural ability. It is our responsibility to move into the system and plunder them. Exodus 12:36 says, "And the Lord had given the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they granted them what they requested. Thus they plundered the Egyptians.
What you demand from life is what it gives you!
Stop waiting for something to happen some day! 'Today' is the day you have been waiting for so make something happen!
